We're starting the year with the noble intentions of re-using, swapping and up-cycling our way through 2009 in the most stylish way possible and we hope that you will join us somewhere near you to do the same!
2009 and all the depressing scenarios it brings with it is a great opportunity to think again and start a fresh. There is a need to think and do things another way. With the current climate - whether it's your personal finances or global environmental and political issues - we're kind of all getting the message that how we live day to day and how we engage with the world around us, has an impact on our collective future and more immediately, on how we feel about life right now.
The way we choose to express ourselves through our individual (or not) style, and the way we buy what we buy leaves a massive footprint environmental and socio-political footprint; landfill, exploitation of workers here and further afield are unpalitable aspects of the fashion industry that we often fail to connect with our own actions when we're standing in front of a bit of gorgeousness at a bargain price. Buying and wearing clothes is a bit of an escape from 'the serious stuff'; it's about us, our identity, our hopes and dreams of our most fabulous selves - it's personal and ever so slightly irrational!
Sharewear can help us all remember that all important connection, save some money and still indulge in the escape!

2009 IS THE TIME TO RISE UP AND
JOIN THE FASHION REVOLUTION !!
It happened and it was a fabulous celebration of style and individuality!! Liberated by swapping and sharing, 40+ women went out into the night with their bags of super stylish swag, large smiles on their faces. Thanks to all who helped to make the evening such a success and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year... at a venue near you.
Well, if you needed any further proof that it's possible to be ecologically responsible, stylish - listen to Vivienne Westwood (Yes- that is an order!)

"WE MUST STOP BUYING AND BUYING!!!" and START listening. She has single handedly done more for us ladies than any other fashion designer, to move us closer to the best that we can be. Her clothes are a celebration of shape and the essence of what it is to be female, individual, intelligent and independent; she is a political force that we should all be reckoning with.
Join us on Tuesday 25th November at Sharewear to raise a glass of something chilled to Dame Vivienne!

Welcome People to the glorious world of Sharewear...
We’ve all got the message that we’ve got no money – no really WE’VE GOT NO MONEY and frankly, even if you do still have a few pennies somewhere ( that's you, smarty pants with the ISA) you’d probably be better off keeping it in your wardrobe than in a bank – so lets make some space…
Sharewear is the stuff that lurks in the recesses of your wardrobe; stuff that’s fallen between the cracks of your most fabulous moments back in the day, your size 6-16 fluctuations and those gloriously inappropriate gifts – “I just didn’t know how to tell him that I actually hate baby pink and what’s going on with that lace collar ?”
Sharewear gives you a chance to swap and share clothes, accessories and jewellery on a scale that guarantees:
- Fresh, interesting stuff to swap it with
- Featured wardrobes from vintage specialists and designers to share
- Regular events -so you don’t get stuck with something that was a great idea for 24hours and is now occupying the same space as the thing you got rid of in the first place
- Events in your neighbourhood
We will also treat you to regular doses of Style Wisdom that we hope you will enjoy and contribute too. We know what we think, we’d love to know what you think ….
Individuality is the key to style, yet this is were so many women seem to come unstuck. Fearing being different or individual and preferring to play it safe and ending up looking like no one in particular, least of all themselves and so feeling disillusioned the cycle continues. Fashion for the most part is about conforming to overproduced, hysterical and half formed ideas that are usually deemed out of date by the time they hit the high street.Fashion is a game and should be played for fun and not to win!
Fashion should be irreverent, and tongue in chic. Style should just be chic!
Here is my recipe for true failsafe style. Firstly embrace your unique individuality. Mix in a healthy dose of realism and a pinch of bravery. Top it of with a huge smile. et voila!
on Don't miss this!!!
